Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions from licensed clinicians about our continuing education coursework.

Is Clinical Piece an approved continuing education provider in Florida?

Not yet. Clinical Piece has a CE Provider application pending with the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling. Until that application is approved, our coursework is offered for professional development and cannot be reported for license renewal credit. We will notify everyone on our waitlist as soon as the Board acts on the application.

Who is Clinical Piece continuing education designed for?

Our coursework is built for licensed mental health professionals, specifically Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT). Course material assumes an independently licensed or license-eligible clinician who is already carrying a caseload.

Who teaches Clinical Piece courses?

Courses are developed and presented by Dr. Reyna Aday, PhD, LMHC, LPC, NCC, CFMHE, E-RYT 500. She is licensed in Florida (MH17063), New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and New Mexico. She also serves as a Subject Matter Expert for the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC), where she reviews and develops continuing education content used by other clinicians. She is also the founder of SOMA Trauma Healing Center.

What courses does Clinical Piece offer?

Four courses are in development: The Biopsychosocial Model: A Comprehensive Approach to Clinical Assessment; Clinical Documentation and Best Practices; Clinical Interviewing Skills; and De-Escalation Techniques. Each is built on current peer-reviewed research and aligned with DSM-5-TR diagnostic criteria.

How are Clinical Piece courses delivered?

The Biopsychosocial Model course is delivered in a blended format, combining a live session via Zoom with self-paced material. Delivery formats for the remaining courses are being finalized as part of the Board application.

What does "audit-aligned" mean in your course descriptions?

Audit-aligned means the documentation practices taught are structured to hold up under payer and licensing board review, not just to satisfy a supervisor. Our clinical documentation coursework addresses what reviewers actually look for in a chart, so clinicians are writing notes that are defensible if they are ever examined.

Can I earn CE credit from Clinical Piece right now?

No. Because the CE Provider application is still pending with the Florida Board, we cannot award or report continuing education credit at this time, and we do not advertise credit hours we are not yet authorized to grant. Join the waitlist and we will contact you the moment that changes.

Does Clinical Piece work with clinicians outside Florida?

Yes. Clinical Piece is based in Coral Gables, Florida and serves mental health professionals nationwide. Note that CE reciprocity varies by state, so clinicians licensed outside Florida should confirm with their own licensing board whether coursework from a Florida-approved provider will be accepted toward their renewal.

How many continuing education hours does my Florida license require?

The Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling sets these requirements. That covers how many hours you need each renewal cycle and which topics are mandatory. Requirements change, so confirm your current obligation directly with the Board or through CE Broker rather than relying on a third-party summary.

What accommodations are available for participants with disabilities?

Participants requiring accommodations may contact Clinical Piece at info@clinicalpiece.com or (305) 209-6588 at least five business days prior to the course date so arrangements can be made.

What is Clinical Piece's refund policy?

Our full refund policy is published on this site and governs cancellations and transfers for all coursework. See the Refund Policy page for the current terms.

How do I file a grievance about a Clinical Piece course?

Clinical Piece maintains a formal grievance procedure for participants. The process, including how to submit a complaint and expected response times, is documented on our Grievance Policy page.
